History

Pattoki is a town in the Kasur District of the Punjab province. Pattoki is named after a caste of the Hindus called Pattwaan. It was a Hindu-Sikh dominated town, famous for its cotton production and was called The Cotton Queen. After partition the cotton industry became sick. This city is still a big trade centre for a number of villages attached to it. The Changa Manga forest is also 10 kilometres away from Pattoki. Ghehlan nurseries are also 1 kilometre away from Pattoki. Pattoki green market is famous all over the Punjab.
Location

Tehsil Pattoki is surrounded by Okara District in its west and Sheikhupura district on its north, Tehsil Kasur in its east and Tehsil Chunian in its south. It is the headquarter of Pattoki Tehsil, an administrative subdivision of the district, and is located at 311'0N 7350'60E with an altitude of 186 meters (613 feet).
