History

Jahanian has a rich history. It is believed that Alexander the Great left some traces during the conquest of this area and that Muhammad Bin Qasim, the first Muslim invader of the sub-continent passed through the area on the way toMultan,famous "Generali sark"(The way of Generals). Jahanian an old famous Mandi is a Tehsil of District Khanewal. Named after a famous spiritual personality Hazrat Syed Jalal-ud-Din Alias “Jahanian Jahaan Ghasht” who attributed this title because of his zeal and zest for preaching of Islam. It is situated at Super Highway N-5 leading from Multan to Lahore enrouted to Dehli at about 35KM from District headquarter Khanewal / linked with railway network at Lodhran-Khanewal cord line. Tehsil Jahanian is stiuated at a point where district Vehari, Khanewal, Lodhran and Multan adjoin as follows.

 •  North:                     District Khanewal

•  West:                       District Multan 

•  South:                      District Lodhran

•  East:                        District Vehari

 Jahanian was declared as notified area committee vide notification no. 5939 dated 12.03.1919 and continued as such till promulgation of Basic Democratic Order, 1959 and Municipal Ordinance, 1960. With  the inception of devolution system under the Punjab Local Govt. Ordinance, 2001 urban area of Jahanian tegether with suburban/rural areas of tehsil comprising 89 villages w.e.f. 15.08.2001. it is pertinent to mention here that on 17.02.2009, Police Chowki Thattha Sadiqabad was upgraded to Police Station.
